Dressform!!!

Finally, it's in my possession and opened and sucessfully put together. *^_^* I still can't believe I officially have it. It's a Dritz Twinfit in a beautiful smokey gray color. I absolutely love it!!! Now I can start working on all those costumes that require a dressform to be completed successfully. *^_^*

Obi, Among Other Things

Ok, here goes. Either I'm totally finished with the obi or I'm almost finished. I just have to decide whether or not I'm going to add a few more details to the design. Other than that, the design is finished... Oh, I just remembered that I need to add the designs to the bows. *sigh* So either way I'm almost done. *sigh* Well the design won't take that long, and I already have the braiding attached to the obi and hibiscus. *^_^* It's kind of funny. The fabric store hasn't had the right color of braiding for almost half a year so I bought 3 1/2 yds. of white/cream braid and painted it the right color. *^_^* That was fun as well as tiresome. I also found the beads I've been looking, they're for the ties on the sleeves. So, I'm nearly done with the costume. School is starting to pile up again, and it just started, so my sewing time will be near extinction, but it's worth it. I'm still trying to get the Yuna costume done by the end of Janurary. I know it's doable and every spare moment is going toward my sewing. I'm really excited to start my Aerith costume soon! And my Violet costume will, hopefully, begin by the end of February. Then I might start on Rouge or another video game character! *^_^* Maybe I'll make Garnet's traveling outfit then!

Mascot

This year I am going to learn how to make a mascot. I'm also going to, hopefully, start making one this year as well. The only thing is, I can't figure out who to make! It has to be someone who is cute and fuzzy and not too big, but I don't know who that is. I have so many possible ideas floating about my head that I can't seem to latch onto any of them cause the next one seems to be better. Ah, the mind of an artist is a busy, cluttered one at best. I like it. '-'

Plans and hopes for the new year.

This year, in the costuming realm of my life, I have a few hopes, plans, and goals. I'd like to make, at least, three costumes. Each costume will, hopefully, improve my skill in one way or another. My goal is to make one costume without a pattern, another totally out of lycra/swimwear (it cannot be an easy pattern), and a third ... well, I haven't come up with the specifications for that one yet. I don't even know what it will be! Before the fall I hope to make a practical, and non-practical, garment for each of my immediate family members. I also plan to learn at least three to four new sewing techniques before the fall. I hope to get all this done in an orderly fashion and make at least one superhero costume.

New Year!!!!! *^_^*

A new year has begun.
