Obi, Among Other Things
Ok, here goes. Either I'm totally finished with the obi or I'm almost finished. I just have to decide whether or not I'm going to add a few more details to the design. Other than that, the design is finished... Oh, I just remembered that I need to add the designs to the bows. *sigh* So either way I'm almost done. *sigh* Well the design won't take that long, and I already have the braiding attached to the obi and hibiscus. *^_^* It's kind of funny. The fabric store hasn't had the right color of braiding for almost half a year so I bought 3 1/2 yds. of white/cream braid and painted it the right color. *^_^* That was fun as well as tiresome. I also found the beads I've been looking, they're for the ties on the sleeves. So, I'm nearly done with the costume. School is starting to pile up again, and it just started, so my sewing time will be near extinction, but it's worth it. I'm still trying to get the Yuna costume done by the end of Janurary. I know it's doable and every spare moment is going toward my sewing. I'm really excited to start my Aerith costume soon! And my Violet costume will, hopefully, begin by the end of February. Then I might start on Rouge or another video game character! *^_^* Maybe I'll make Garnet's traveling outfit then!

Mascot
This year I am going to learn how to make a mascot. I'm also going to, hopefully, start making one this year as well. The only thing is, I can't figure out who to make! It has to be someone who is cute and fuzzy and not too big, but I don't know who that is. I have so many possible ideas floating about my head that I can't seem to latch onto any of them cause the next one seems to be better. Ah, the mind of an artist is a busy, cluttered one at best. I like it. '-'
Plans and hopes for the new year.
This year, in the costuming realm of my life, I have a few hopes, plans, and goals. I'd like to make, at least, three costumes. Each costume will, hopefully, improve my skill in one way or another. My goal is to make one costume without a pattern, another totally out of lycra/swimwear (it cannot be an easy pattern), and a third ... well, I haven't come up with the specifications for that one yet. I don't even know what it will be! Before the fall I hope to make a practical, and non-practical, garment for each of my immediate family members. I also plan to learn at least three to four new sewing techniques before the fall. I hope to get all this done in an orderly fashion and make at least one superhero costume.

Another Costume
I have decided to make Aerith's costume from Advent Children. She has been a favorite character of mine for a while, and I've always liked her outfit. Since my other costumes are almost completed I am starting on this new one as soon as my dress form comes in and school permits time.
Reference pictures:
So far I have all the fabric and most of the notions I need.
Fabric and notions
I'm really looking forward to making this costume. Especially since I won't be using a pattern for the pink dress. I'll also be modifying a pattern quite a bit for the bolero, as well. It'll be a first time for both. Excited and nervous is how I feel. '~' It's going to be great!!! *^_^*

Extreeeme Excitement
It's come. Finally. The moment I've been waiting for my entire sewing life. My future dress form is on its way!!!!!!!!! *^_^* I should have it by mid next week, approximately. I'm soooo very excited. It's an early graduation present from my mom and myself. (We both paid for half the cost.) *sigh* Now I only have to muster up the patience to wait that long. It shall be worth it; I just know it. Let the lip gnawing begin. '~'
